About the Seminar

Building Bridges of Peace through Dialogue

India has, for centuries, stood as a beacon of unity in diversity. Home to a rich mosaic of religions, cultures, languages, and philosophies, the nation has long demonstrated that diversity is not a source of division but a foundation of collective strength and shared heritage. The Constitution of India embodies this enduring civilisational ethos by enshrining the ideals of Justice, Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, Secularism, Human Dignity, and Freedom of Religion.

In an age witnessing increasing social polarization, religious intolerance, misinformation, and ideological conflicts, there is an urgent need to create spaces where dialogue replaces discord, and understanding triumphs over misunderstanding. Recognizing this national imperative, the Santhigiri Social Research Institute (SSRI), in association with the Arts & Culture Department of Santhigiri Ashram, is organizing this National Seminar and Interfaith Dialogue.

The programme brings together eminent spiritual leaders, constitutional scholars, academicians, policymakers, researchers, students, and civil society representatives to explore the shared moral foundations of India's Constitution and the world's great religious traditions.

Vision of the Seminar

Peace, Inclusion & Constitutional Consciousness

To build a peaceful, inclusive, and constitutionally conscious society where the universal values shared by all religions reinforce democratic ideals, uphold human dignity, and inspire present and future generations to become responsible citizens committed to peace, harmony, and national integration.

Inspired by the timeless message of Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru — that the wisdom of all great spiritual teachers deserves our reverence — this dialogue envisions the Constitution of India and the universal values embodied in the world's religions together becoming guiding forces for peace and unity. More than a one-day academic gathering, it is envisioned as the beginning of a continuing national movement.

Expected Outcomes

From Dialogue to a Lasting Movement

Guided by the universal vision of Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru, the National conference seeks to translate dialogue into a sustained movement for peace, constitutional awareness, and social transformation. The conference envisions the following outcomes:

Advance Santhigiri Ashram's mission of universal brotherhood by strengthening mutual respect, trust, and cooperation among diverse faith communities.
Promote constitutional values and shared spiritual wisdom as complementary foundations for a peaceful, inclusive, and harmonious society.
Inspire new generation to uphold peace, constitutional morality, ethical leadership, and compassionate service beyond barriers of caste, creed, and religion.
Establish Santhigiri as a national platform for continued interfaith dialogue, research, seminars, and collaborative peace initiatives.
Carry forward the legacy of Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru by fostering a nationwide movement that celebrates unity in diversity and contributes to national integration and global peace.
