ORGANISER’S PROFILE

Santhigiri Ashram situated at Pothencode in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala State is a charitable non-religious institution propagating the dictums of “secular spirituality” and “cultural harmony” gifted by its founder Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru. Since its inception in 1964 the Ashram has been spearheading the awakening of humanity by its various activities centered on the triad of Annadanam (Serving free food to masses), Athmabodhanam (Spiritual conscientization) and Athurasevanam (Healing the sick). As part of its social concern, Santhigiri Ashram addresses crucial problems of people like hunger, poverty, illness and economic stress.

The Ashram has a number of prestigious undertakings in the fields of health care, education and research. Santhigiri Health Care and Research Organisation (SHRO) is accredited with patents and quality awards for manufacture of Ayurveda and Siddha medicines, and has a network of medical colleges, hospitals, mobile clinics and medicare centers functioning in various parts of the country. Economic activities of the Ashram encompass small scales industrial ventures trading, exports, agriculture, dairy, plantations etc.
